When is the right time to see a specialist?
For women under the age of 35, we recommend seeing a fertility specialist if you have not been able to conceive after 12 months of regular unprotected sex.
For women over the age of 35, we recommend seeing a fertility specialist if you have not been able to conceive after 6 months of regular unprotected sex.
If you or your partner have a known condition affecting your fertility, such as endometriosis or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), we recommend seeing your GP or a fertility specialist before you start trying for a baby.
Joining IVI as a new patient
To register as an IVI patient, all you need to do is book a consultation. You can do this by filling out our online contact form or calling us on 0800 52 00 161. Our Patient Care team will organise the date and time of your appointment. You can choose to attend our clinic for your appointment or have a video consultation from home.
Initial fertility assessments
Before you begin treatment, we will organise a fertility assessment for you and your partner (if applicable). This allows our specialists to gain a clear picture of your fertility health and if recommended, suggest the most effective treatment options for you tailored to your unique requirements.
Building a treatment plan
Once your results are ready, you will visit us for a review consultation with one of our fertility specialists. If an issue has been identified and fertility treatment is advised, we will recommend the most effective treatment options tailored to your individual circumstances. A complete costed breakdown of your treatment will also be provided at this time.
If you decide you would like to start treatment, our Patient Care team will schedule your next appointment where we will set out your treatment timeline. At IVI, we take steps to ensure our patients never face waiting lists and in most cases, you can start treatment immediately.
