Success Rates

Our results make us leaders, but our real success is helping you build a family

Understanding success rates

Success rates can be calculated in different ways, which can make it difficult for patients to compare between fertility clinics. It is also difficult to know how accurately the published clinic success rates really represent your individual chances of conception.

The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) recommends using success rates as a guide, and not a prediction. Like any pregnancy, it’s important to remember that every experience with fertility treatment is unique: the outcome depends on a number of factors that are individual to you and your personal circumstances.

Our consultants will discuss your particular circumstances with you during your consultation. They can carefully review your medical history, suggest options, and discuss your personal chances of success based on available data. It is also an ideal time for your consultant to answer any questions you may have in detail.

Below you will find the success rates for the different types of treatment offered at our clinic (fresh and frozen cycles, including preimplantation genetic testing (PGT)). Both clinical pregnancy rates and live birth rates are presented, the live birth rates being the preferred measurement of success by the HFEA.

Live birth rates per embryo transferred

Measures of success

Multiple pregnancy (twins, triplets) rates

In line with HFEA guidelines, at IVI we are committed to offer safe fertility treatment options to our patients. The risk of having multiple births can be today minimised by transferring only one embryo at a time without compromising your chances of success.

One at a time HFEA’s campaign is meant to raise awareness amongst patients and professionals to ensure that as many women as possible have a healthy baby and a low risk of complications during pregnancy and at birth. Find out more about the campaign in the following link: https://www.hfea.gov.uk/about-us/our-campaign-to-reduce-multiple-births/

Taking all the above into consideration, we are putting all our efforts in minimising this risk to 1% (against a 4% national average).
