For more than 10 years, Dr. Rashda Bano underwent extensive GMC-approved training within the NHS to obtain a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Gynaecology and Obstetrics. She trained primarily at Edinburgh Fertility and Reproductive Endocrine Centre, a large IVF unit inside the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where she successfully obtained certifications from the British Fertility Society (BFS) in gynaecological ultrasound, assisted reproduction, management of sub-fertile couples, embryo transfer and intrauterine insemination (IUI) procedures. Her experience has led her to be appointed in a number of notable positions, including as a visiting clinician in world-renowned hospitals such as the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, US.
Dr. Bano carries out hysteroscopic procedures on an outpatient basis and is competent in managing early pregnancy complications as well as a wide range of gynaecological conditions. She has worked within several medical departments, including Day Surgery, Early Pregnancy and Gynae-Emergency Units. She is particularly passionate about medical education and has been an examiner at the University of Edinburgh since 2014, where she also teaches medical students. Dr Bano frequently presents research at national and international conferences as well as authoring chapters in medical journals.
Dr. Bano is also a Tier 2 Educator in Postgraduate Medical Education & Training.
